TBR: June

I’ve never really been one for a TBR, but BooksandLala’s recent TBR videos have inspired me to do some themed challenges for myself.

I’m going to split this into categories, and will pick my books through the month from this (I won’t get around to them all!). I’m hoping to make this a monthly thing, but we’ll see how it goes.

Challenge – Most Recent Purchases

For this I’m using 5 of the books I purchased in the last month.

2017 TBR Check-in & 2018 Goals

Yes it’s that time of year where everyone sets new goals that inevitably end up forgotten about in 3 months time. And here’s my post!

First lets check in on my goals for 2017. This time last year I created a TBR, and here’s how I got on:

2017 TBR

While I don’t make monthly TBRs, I did want to check in with my (huge) TBR list to see which books I wanted to make a priority list for next year. So, here’s 17 books I want to read in 2017!

1) The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor (#2 & #3)

I really enjoyed Daughter of Smoke and Bone last year, so I’m keen to get to the rest of the series. In fact, I’m currently reading Days of Blood and Starlight.

TBR: Spookathon

Spookathon is a readathon running from 17th to 23rd October. The aim of the readathon is to read Halloween type books. These can be paranormal, horror, thriller, or anything that goes with a ‘Dark’ type theme.

Readathon: Tome Topple

Tome Topple

Sam from Thoughts on Tomes is running a readathon during June called Tome Topple (Announcement video). It runs for 2 weeks from June 5th (Midnight) until June 19th (11:59pm) in your timezone.

The aim of this readathon is to encourage you to pick up big books, i.e. books with 500+ pages. I love this idea! I’m definitely guilty of avoiding books because of their length.

There are 5 (optional) challenges:

  1. Read more than 1 tome (500+ pages)
  2. Take a graphic novel break (any length)
  3. Read a tome that is part of a series
  4. Read over 500 pages in one week
  5. Read an adult novel

Today’s theme is Series You Want to Start Next Year

1. Unremembered by Jessica Brody (Book 1: Unremembered)

Unremembered by Jessica Brody goodreads.com

I’ve not heard anything at all about this series, I’m not even sure where I heard about it. But the synopsis is intriguing, and seems right up my street.

Unremembered follows a sixteen-year-old girl who is the only survivor when a plane goes down over the Pacific Ocean. She is miraculously unharmed, but has no memories. She wasn’t on the passenger list and no trace of her can be found anywhere in the world.
