While I don’t make monthly TBRs, I did want to check in with my (huge) TBR list to see which books I wanted to make a priority list for next year. So, here’s 17 books I want to read in 2017!
1) The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor (#2 & #3)
I really enjoyed
Daughter of Smoke and Bone last year, so I’m keen to get to the rest of the series. In fact, I’m currently reading Days of Blood and Starlight.

Spookathon is a readathon running from 17th to 23rd October. The aim of the readathon is to read Halloween type books. These can be paranormal, horror, thriller, or anything that goes with a ‘Dark’ type theme.
Sam from Thoughts on Tomes is running a readathon during June called Tome Topple (
Announcement video). It runs for 2 weeks from June 5th (Midnight) until June 19th (11:59pm) in your timezone.
The aim of this readathon is to encourage you to pick up big books, i.e. books with 500+ pages. I love this idea! I’m definitely guilty of avoiding books because of their length.
There are 5 (optional)
Read more than 1 tome (500+ pages)
Take a graphic novel break (any length)
Read a tome that is part of a series
Read over 500 pages in one week
Read an adult novel
Here are a few bookish resolutions and goals I have for the year ahead:
I had this target last year, and actually ended up reading 60 books. But I want to leave time for long books so that I don’t keep putting them off. 1 a week is a good goal for me.
Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Lainey @

Series You Want to Start Next Year
1. Unremembered by Jessica Brody (Book 1: Unremembered)

I’ve not heard anything at all about this series, I’m not even sure where I heard about it. But the synopsis is intriguing, and seems right up my street.
Unremembered follows a sixteen-year-old girl who is the only survivor when a plane goes down over the Pacific Ocean. She is miraculously unharmed, but has no memories. She wasn’t on the passenger list and no trace of her can be found anywhere in the world.
