2017 TBR Check-in & 2018 Goals

Yes it’s that time of year where everyone sets new goals that inevitably end up forgotten about in 3 months time. And here’s my post!

First lets check in on my goals for 2017. This time last year I created a TBR, and here’s how I got on:

2017 TBR

While I don’t make monthly TBRs, I did want to check in with my (huge) TBR list to see which books I wanted to make a priority list for next year. So, here’s 17 books I want to read in 2017!

1) The Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy by Laini Taylor (#2 & #3)

I really enjoyed Daughter of Smoke and Bone last year, so I’m keen to get to the rest of the series. In fact, I’m currently reading Days of Blood and Starlight.

Top 10 Books 2015

It was a great year for books and I have read 60 over the last 12 months (including 4 re-reads).

Here are my Top 10:

10. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett

Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett goodreads.com

This novel, written by two hugely popular fantasy writers, is set in the run up to the apocalypse. To be precise, the world is ending next Saturday. However, an angel and demon (Crowley and Aziraphale) plan to prevent this by killing the anti-Christ. Who they seem to have misplaced.

This book follows a variety of characters, from the Four Bikers of the Apocalypse, to a witch and witch-hunter, to the anti-Christ himself. It’s brilliantly funny and a great story.

1. Unremembered by Jessica Brody (Book 1: Unremembered)

Unremembered by Jessica Brody goodreads.com

I’ve not heard anything at all about this series, I’m not even sure where I heard about it. But the synopsis is intriguing, and seems right up my street.

Unremembered follows a sixteen-year-old girl who is the only survivor when a plane goes down over the Pacific Ocean. She is miraculously unharmed, but has no memories. She wasn’t on the passenger list and no trace of her can be found anywhere in the world.
