Jacob grew up listening to his Grandfather’s stories about a school on an island off the coast of Wales full of very peculiar children. At 16 years old, an event occurs which makes Jacob want to find out more about this school and the mysterious Miss Peregrine.

I didn’t really know what to expect when I picked this book up. But I’m glad I gave it a go because I loved it!

I really enjoyed the whole concept of the peculiar children, showing it’s OK to be different.Such a great message.

The thing that really stood out for me was how Ransom Riggs was inspired by the (rather creepy) old photos he’s collected over the years. They were a great addition to the story, and really added something to the narrative.

Overall, I’m really looking forward to seeding how it plays out through the rest of the trilogy. If (like me) you read a mixture of eBooks and physical books, I’d definitely recommend picking up a physical copy of this one.
