Book Review: The Glass Mermaid

The Glass Mermaid by Poppy Lawless (The Chancellor Fairy Tales #1) ★★★☆☆

Published: 2015

Format: eBook

Pages: 102

Genre: Romance, Fantasy

Kate is the last surviving mermaid. She’s returned to the shores of the lake her people lived in. Now she spends her days making trinkets from the glass she finds washed up on the beach.

Cooper is dying. He has six months until the cancer takes him. He returned home to Lake Erie, painting every sunset he sees.

The Glass Mermaid is a wonderful little novella which is at its core a romance story. I wouldn’t usually pick up a romance, but I’m glad I gave this one a shot. It’s a great mix of emotions, but as a whole is completely heartwarming.

Overall this is a lovely summer read.
