Book Review: A Court of Thorns and Roses

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas ★★★★☆

Published: 2015

Format: eBook

Pages: 432

Genre: New Adult, Fantasy

After Feyre kills a Fae in the shape of wolf, a beast turns up at her home demanding retribution. The creature turns out to be another fae Tamlin. Although she is his Captor, Tamlin is kind to Feyre. And as she learns more about the faeries she is torn between her old life with her family and her new life in this grand house.

This was a really fun read. Although there seemed to be some sudden changes in personallity I did enjoy the majority of the characters in this story. It was great to read a novel set around the fae (if you have any reccomendations for others please let me know), and overall I liked the world this story was set in.

There were some ‘convenient’ plot points and some YA cliches, but overall I enjoyed this and I’m excited to see where the story goes. I have heard fantastic reviews of the sequel A Court of Mist and Fury, including from people who didn’t like this book, so that’s definitely a good sign!
