A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray (Firebird #1)

★★★★☆

Published: 2014

Format: eBook

Pages: 368

Genre: Young Adult, Science Fiction

Marguerite Caine’s parents are well renowned physicist. Their biggest achievement is a device which allows the user to jump between universes. When her farther is murdered by his assistant Paul, Marguerite follows him through multiple universes to track him down and avenge her father’s death.

I completely fell for this book! I’ll start off by saying, this isn’t the most clever and well written story in the world. There are many cliches throughout, but there are also twists and turns.

I’ll admit that it was the cover which first attracted me (I mean just look at it!). Throw in travel between universes and it’s a must read for me. This book swept me into the world (or worlds) of dimension travel. The great thing about how the universes work in this book is that we had a great mix of totally different worlds. I like the characters, and the many different version of the characters, each similar but also distinct.

There’s not much more I can say about this, it was just one of those books that captures your (or at least my) imagination, and makes you not want to put it down.

I can’t wait to see where Claudia Gray goes with the series!
