Book Review: The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

Published: 1925

Format: eBook

Pages: 177

Genre: Classic

The Great Gatsby is set in Long Island in the roaring 20’s. Nick Carraway is intrigued by his mysterious neighbor Jay Gatsby. The novel follows Nick as he is plunged into a world of lavish parties and the many rumors surrounding Gatsby’s past.

This is a classic American novel, but for me it was just an OK read. There wasn’t a huge amount going on in the story (and I’m all about the plot), and while it wasn’t a bad novel I didn’t feel there was anything stand out about it. This is hugely popular however, so it’s definitely worth checking out so you can see how you feel about it.

I will definitely check out the recent film adaptation though, I think those parties will look beautiful on screen!
