Karou is a seventeen year-old art student in Prague. She’s also an errand girl to Brimstone, a monster from ‘Elsewhere’. She knows nothing of Brimstone’s world nor how she came to be in his care. But the doors to Elsewhere are closing, and Karou must decided whether to remain in the safety of her human life, or risk everything to find the answers she’s always sought.

There was a lot of hype for this book, it seems hugely popular among book bloggers and YouTubers. At first I was disappointed, the first half of the book is fun but nothing special. But then it all changes! As we plunge into the action and reveals of the second half of the story (where the real fantasy elements begin to show) I was hooked. The story grabbed my attention and I couldn’t put it down. I’ll definitely be carrying on with this series.
